With over 30.9m TikTok views, Brits are looking to save some pennies by ramping up their self-care routines with a home spa.

As a nation, we’re busier than ever, and with the economic climate still causing financial issues for many, it’s more important than ever before to take the time to create a personalised experience to show yourself some self-love, or remind loved ones how much you care.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re here to share home spa ideas and a step-by-step guide to create a luxurious spa day at home for yourself, or a loved one.

Declutter the Bathroom

If you’re a growing family or a multigenerational household, clear away what you can to ensure your loved ones' experiences are as calm and tranquil as possible. Clear away children’s toys, and bath products they won’t need to create a clean and serene space for their troubles to float away.

Set the Scene

Our experts found that the perfect bath temperature is 36-40 degrees Celsius, which is just a few degrees above normal body temperature, so try to have your partner’s home spa ready for their arrival. Light some candles, and dim the lights to start creating a spa-like experience for them.

Use Their Favourite Products, Or Treat Them to Something New

To show you really care, create a personalised experience for your loved one by using products that you know they love, such as bath bombs, soaks or oils so they can enjoy some spa treatments at home. Why not treat them to a new product you know they’ll love - you could even create a bespoke hamper to give them to make their spa at home even more special.

Creating A Calming Ambience

You’ll know how best your partner likes to unwind, whether it’s listening to music, watching their favourite show, or reading a book. Use this to your advantage by setting up their spa at home with their favourite things, so that everything they could want or need is within reach.

Spa Snacks

Whilst some might think food should be kept out of the bathroom, 30% of Brits admit to snacking in the bath. If your loved one is a known foodie, why not create a snack board for them to enjoy as they unwind? If you’re struggling to think of ideas, Sanctuary Bathroom’s bath snacks survey can help you create a delicious bath snack board
