In many homes space is an issue in bathrooms and it is especially problematic in en suite bathrooms. Many people prefer a free standing shower enclosure to an over the bath shower and having one of these certainly adds value to your home. Unfortunately, finding the balance between a luxurious shower and the space in your bathroom isn’t necessarily as easy as 1, 2, 3.
Nevertheless, there are ways you can save space. You could eliminate the bath altogether and opt for one of our large shower trays. However, not having at least one bathtub in a home can negatively affect resale value.
If you choose shower trays wisely, you can get that little bit more shower for your money. You don’t have to have a square or rectangular tray, there are curved and penta versions available, which provide that little bit more space.
Similarly, getting the shower doors right is really important. Space restraints will always impact upon your choice of doors. Get a door that folds inwards and you need a tray big enough to open the door into and to climb into before closing it again. Get a door that folds outwards and you need space surrounding the tray to allow the door to open without risking damage by bashing against other fixtures. The solution? Try bifold shower doors. They allow you to get in and out of the shower easily, whilst saving space.
