Getting Bathroom Brands & Crosswater Extended Guarantees

If you are considering purchasing, or have recently purchased, a product from the Bathroom Brands Group of brands and manufacturers, you may be eligible for an extended guarantee.

Bathroom Brands includes Crosswater, Burlington, Britton Bathrooms and Clearwater and following a review of their products last year, they have made changes to their guarantees.

Essentially, all products come with a standard out-of-the-box guarantee period, which is typically two years. However, the key details of this change are that:

  • Customers can extend their guarantee to between 5 and 25 years (subject to product range & product eligibility)
  • It is free of charge to register
  • The purchased product must have been made within the UK & Ireland (proof of purchase from a Bathroom Brands retailer, such as ourselves, is required)
  • Registration must be completed after purchase and installation, within 60 days of your purchase date
  • You must be able to demonstrate the product was fitted by a qualified professional in accordance with the instructions and guidance

What products are covered and for how long?

Below is a table detailing the standard guarantee by product range and the extended guarantees available.

The table also details the exclusions, such as certain colours, flush plates, and small parts and components, such as fittings, seals, and rollers, that all have fixed guarantees and cannot be extended - or are not covered - beyond the period detailed.

What issues or problems are covered under the guarantee?

The guarantee covers all manufacturing faults or material failure on all products (not ex-display).

Bathroom Brands will typically repair the item or supply a replacement part free of charge, should the item be faulty. However, if they can’t fix it, they will supply the identical product, part or will replace it with the closest product in their range.

Should a site visit be required, a deposit will be taken in advance to protect against the costs in the event that the product isn’t faulty or defective.

What issues or problems aren't covered?

Like any guarantee, there are also elements that are not covered within the terms. These include:

  • Failure to install a proper watertight seal in the correct place leading to water ingress, or issues where a product is not performing due to insufficient water pressure will not be eligible
  • You will not be covered by any improper cleaning (e.g. failure to follow cleaning guidance supplied), and damage caused by limescale, mildew, chemicals. Glass breakage and consequential damage are also excluded.
  • Some products, like unlacquered brass and natural wood veneer finishes, will naturally age over time and change. Any products that fall into the category of naturally ageing will not be covered.

What happens if I don’t register within the 60-day period?

If you do not register within the 60-day period then you will still be covered for the standard period of the item, which is 2 years, or 3 years for LED Mirrors & Cabinets.

Unfortunately, Bathroom Brands cannot offer flexibility on this timeframe and the time period is consistent with many other manufacturers in the industry who choose to offer similar guarantee offerings.
